Testimonials

I am grateful to the parents, grandparents and supporters of the young musicians I have the great pleasure to work with each week. Encouraging them through play, embracing their ideas and recognizing that being naive is a powerful benefit in play, creativity and learning.  These experiences transfer into their lives and out into the world.

Leah Goard - Mom of Kayden - 12

" Steve is not just a music teacher - he is a catalyst for young boys and girls to find their place in the world through music. The safe and inspiring space that he has created at the Sound gives these young souls the room and unconditional support to explore and nurture their passion, find their joy and develop their skills - creating a ripple effect in their lives. I am beyond grateful for the positive impact that Steve has had with my son. It's been a life changing experience for him that will serve him for his whole life."

Marnie Ross - Mom of Noah - 13

"Steve was recommended to me several years back by my son’s teacher. My son Noah started off on the keyboard and later gravitated to the drums.  Steve keeps the lessons fascinating for the kids in his classes in so many different and alternative ways such as recording their music and mixing it up with other tracks and beats, pairing them with other musicians, getting them involved in local music events.  Steve’s creativity and passion for all kinds of music shows with what he teaches the kids.  Steve is truly an awesome teacher and you can tell he is enjoying every minute of it himself!!"

Jenn Hoile - Mom of Tiana - 11

"Thank you so much! It's so awesome for Tiana to be acknowledged and taken care of by someone she cares about and respects - you make a huge impact on her life.
I don't think I have ever been happier about a choice for my daughter than connecting her with you and the Sound. You really do rock!"

Kendra Fanconi - Mom of Larkin - 9

I signed my son up for Suzuki Violin, so he would have basics and discipline and music theory. I started him with Steve so that he would get freaky, love making music, and learn who he is as a creative spirit. My feeling is that the violin may wane at some point. But that he will gleefully stay as a student of Steve’s for the next ten years. My kid’s consistent response to the question, “how was your lesson with Steve?” is:

“It was awesome!”

Kamala Todd - Mom of Kai - 15

We want to acknowledge what a huge, influential, inspiring person you have been for Kai, and we are very grateful. You have helped to set the spark for his love of music, and his (re)discovery of how good he is at playing music. You offered the Synchronicity Festival opportunity which opened so many doors for him, and helped him build his confidence with performing, and being a musician.
